TIDIGARE CERT UTSTÄLLNINGAR

Labradorklubbens Certutställning, eller Club Show som den också kallas, är sprungen ur SSRKs egen Club Show, som under många år avhölls för spaniels & retrievers på vackra Skokloster.

Efter flera års idogt förhandlande med SSRK kunde Labradorklubben år 1994 arrangera sin första officiella utställning, även den på Skokloster. Antalet anmälda labradorer låg strax under 200. Inbjudna domare var Mrs Margie Cairns (Blaircourt), Mrs Nan Austermuhle (Ednan) och Mrs Sheila Cuthbert (Ballyduff), alla från Storbritannien.

Det var en stor ära för för klubben att ha nämnda domare, tillika rasspecialister, på klubbens allra första officiella utställning! Det var också här som ”The Blaircourt Trophy” fick sin första pristagare. Den pryder numera samtliga certutställningars fina prisbord, efter att klubben år 2007 beslutat upphöra med att dela ut vandringspriser.

Efter denna första officiella utställning i HS regi, beslöts det att certutställningen skulle läggas ut på regionerna. Här till höger kan ni läsa om vilka regioner som varit arrangörer under åren, vilka domare som dömt, samt toppresultatet.

Motala 2010

BIS cert, blev GBSHCH Mambrinos Spellbound at Carpenny, nu också SU(U)CH. Uppf: Jan-Roger Sauge/Kari Henie, Norge. Ägare: Penny Carpanini, England & Kari Henie, Norge.

Domarrapport:
Labrador Retrieverclub of Sweden Championship Show held Sat 6th June 2009. Judges Mr. Les Brabban (dogs and Best in show Puppy) Mrs. Joyce Brabban (bitches and Best in show).

We would like to thank the Swedish Labrador Retriever Club for inviting us to judge the show. The venue was excellent and the weather good. Overall the quality of the entry was good with many outstanding dogs and bitches.

Best in show was NUCH SU(U)CH Mambrinos Smasher. This black male was a lovely example of the breed. He had a super outline and was so well balanced. Masculine head and such a kind expression, clean through the neck and shoulder, level topline and good quarters and he moves with great drive. Lovely dog.

Best Opposite Sex with CAC was Annual´s Never Been Kissed. This 13 month old yellow bitch stood out for type and quality. Has the most beautiful feminine head and the sweetest expression, correct eye colour, clean neck and shoulders, lovely front and feet, deep through the rib with good turn of stifle. Strong topline and tail straight off the back. Moved with drive.

Dog CAC Annual´s Trendsetter. This excellent black was just 18 months and had everything that I was looking for. The most striking outline with perfect balance. Beautiful clean and reachy neckleading to a good topline. The best of quarters and he was insuper coat. Moved effortlessly around the ring. He was very much a challenger for best dog. Must have a great future.

Best Puppy was Trendmakers Makeover. Again a lovely black of excellent type. Lots of substance and good outline. Has a kind head and deep body. Moved well and was in good coat. A very good prospect for the future.

We also had many excellent Labradors both male and female that were of very good type and full of quality that will do well in the showring. Movement on the whole was good as were temperaments. Some of the chocolates need to watch the eye colour.

It was a pleasure to judge such friendly and well organized showand all credit goes to the committee.

Domarrapport:

My husband David and myself were invited to judge the two above Championship shows. Before commenting on the Labradors presented before us to give our opinion.

I would like to say Thank you to all committee members who had helped to make the two-day events so enjoyable. Also thank them for asking us to judge at their happy and pleasant shows. I particular a BIG THANK YOU to Annelie Ling-Nilsson, her husband and family for extending their home and hospitality to both David and myself we had a very enjoyable time in Sweden.

I'm told that it was 12 years since we judged in Sweden so we were able to see a great difference in the Labradors at this show.

Generally heads and expression were either over done with many incorrect eye colour or heads that were too small and not enough chiselling making them look more like a flatcoat's head rather than a Labrador's head and expression. Particularly in the younger bitches I notice that most of them lacked bone and looked more like field trial Labrador bitches than the Labradors we expect to judge in the show ring.

In general the movement was only just acceptable. However our winners did have excellent movement lovely heads and expression and excellent in type. The yellows generally were poor. One or two yellows that we liked very much did'nt have the coat needed on the day to win high awards. But would be highly placed when in coat and condition.

I was told that one of the exhibitors thought we did'nt like yellows because all our TOP winners I think were BLACK this is not the case. We have in our kennels at the moment all three colours ie.black yellow and chocolate all qualified for Crufts and indeed we have won CC s in all three colours making up Champions but I will not name them because over the 45 + years that we have been showing many of you will not even have heard of most of our Labradors from the past.

So in general our opinion is that you must breed and strive to alter the heads and expressions, the thickness or bone and very importantly watch the sound moving Labradors and try to breed which will be capable of moving soundly. A well constructed animal will move correctly having all the points of balance needed to cover the ground effortlessly and correctly.

Firstly I will give my opinions of my top winners at the Club show.

Valpklass 1 Hanar
Annual's Trendsetter a lovely black male with a beautifull head and expression good bone,coat, tail and feet. Level topline and moves well. My concern is that he is on the small side for his age and I do hope that he grows on well.

Junior Class Hanar
Trendmakers Indian Summer
What a super male this Labrador is I would have brought him home given the chance to buy him. Lovely Head and a kind expression good eye colour. Very good balance. Excellent neck and shoulders. Deep rib and very short coupled.

Strong quarters which he used so well when he moves. He has a good thickness of bone without being course. When he matures he will be very hard to beat !!!! top winning Labrador even at this age. Without any hesitation on seeing him again at the end of judging all the classes He was without doubt the Best Winning Male taking the CC and eventually he went BEST in Show. Congratulations to his owner you must be very very proud of this Labrador.

Reserv Best in Show
Seabirds Melona Madcaps, black bitch who was very typical in type Sweet head and expression. Good coat. Well constructed and moves well.A real show girl.
