CLUB SHOW 2012
Domarpresentation
PLUIS DAVERN; dömer hanar, valpar och BIR

I purchased my first Golden Retriever in ’67 and ran her in Obedience and Field events as well as Conformation. From then on I bred several litters of dual purpose dogs. I started training professionally in the early 70’s. When I became a single mom, with the responsibility for all four of my children, dog training became my livelihood. I was accepted as a member of the Professional Handlers Association in the early 80’s and finished dogs in Sporting, Hound, and Working Groups.
I started Sundowners Kennels, now located in Gilroy, CA in 1969 and train for obedience, gun dog, and disaster search and rescue. I currently train all dogs selected for Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) disaster work in conjunction with the National Disaster Search Dog Foundation, located in Ojai, CA. These dogs, rescued from shelters or breed rescue agencies, are donated as trained animals to selected firefighters and policemen located around the US and in Mexico. I also train Obedience classes for the Del Monte Kennel Club and have done so since 1981. Additionally I judge Hunt tests for the spaniel, retriever and pointing breeds.
As a breeder and trainer, I am dedicated to the concept of form and function. Currently, I am approved by the American Kennel Club to judge the Sporting Group and nine hound breeds as well as Best in Show and Junior Showmanship.
I am a board member of the Sussex Spaniel Club of America, and the Lone Cypress Vizsla Club, a member of the Vizsla Club of America, the Golden Retriever Club of America, The Labrador Retriever Club Inc, the Salinas Valley Kennel Club, and the Monterey Bay Hunting Retriever Club.
I have bred and owned Best in Show, Master Hunter and Obedience and Agility titled Sussex Spaniels and Champion and performance titled Goldens Retrievers, Labradors, German Shorthaired Pointers and Vizslas.

NANCY TALBOTT; dömer tikar, avels- och uppfödargrupper

I fell in love with purebred dogs at the age of four when a family moved into our neighborhood with two Golden Retrievers who won the hearts of every child on the block. My family, however, believed in the integrity of the mixed breed dog, so it was not until I was living on my own in 1976 that I entered the world of purebred dog sports. My first very poorly bred Golden did obtain a CDX title in obedience, and got me started in the dog world. Three years later I obtained the puppy who would become my first Am/Can CH, UD, WCX, and Can CDX. I will forever be thankful to his breeders for entrusting such a wonderful puppy to a graduate student with nothing to recommend her except enthusiasm.
In the years that have followed, I am proud to have bred and owned many CH, UD, JH, WCX, and other working titled Goldens and Labradors (my other breed, added in 1987). Included in these are specialty winners, high in trial winners, and Outstanding Producers.
In addition to Goldens and Labradors, I have owned CH Papillons, Pugs, and PBGVs. In real life, I have been an educator for 32 years in general and special education in grades 1st through 8th. I currently am a Special Education Administrator.
I currently am approved by AKC to judge Golden Retrievers, Labrador Retrievers, Chesapeake Bay Retrievers, Flat Coated Retrievers, and Junior Showmanship. It has been my privilege to judge the Golden Retriever Club of America National Specialty twice; the Golden Retriever Club of Canada National Specialty three times; and many Labrador and Golden specialties in the US, Canada, Indonesia, and South Korea as well. I am honored indeed to be able to give back to this sport by sharing the ring as a judge of multiple retrieving breeds. |
